BIG TOM is an established business with over a decade of experience taking pupils to the driving test. They know what standard of driving is needed to pass a driving test. One of the additional services that are offered to customers is the BIG TOM mock test – it is a good mock test packed full of benefits. The beauty of the mock test is not just in preparing a pupil about how a mock test looks, feels and even sounds (the words the examiners use), but crucially it will give very accurate feedback on the driving standard. It is extremely well aligned with the assessment criteria used by DVSA examiners. There is no particular secret to how this benefit can be offered, it comes from having carefully observed literally dozens of tests over the years in a variety of different driving test centres. This is why we don’t care which driving test centre our customers want to use.
Take one example from today. Dean who passed his driving test this morning in Grantham had three mock tests on his intensive course. The last of which was on the last day of his BIG TOM intensive course, which was yesterday, and it indicated that he had committed five minor driving errors. Roll on to his actual driving test the very next day and sure enough, it was a comfortable pass with just five minor driving errors. Well done Dean on a job well done. Customers can rest assured that the assessment standard of their mock test is a very close indicator of what will happen on their actual driving test. (If you are wondering why Dean finished his course at 9pm, he did his entire course in evening sessions so that he could continue doing his full-time job so he did not lose any income from doing the intensive course…… WIN/WIN!)
It is by having this skill of accurately assessing a customer’s driving ability that BIG TOM Driving School currently has an overall driving test pass rate of 77% which is a whopping 30% higher than the national average pass rate! Customers appreciate the service being offered as even when it indicates there is a need for a slight improvement, the customer can take that feedback and work on ensuring their first attempt is a pass. Imagine if a customer is given an inaccurate assessment it can then lead on to failed driving test attempts and loss of confidence, not to mention the time and expenses involved.
